As Weedsport Central School District transitions into another school year this fall, some members of its administrative, clerical, and operational teams have also transitioned into new roles. The district found that restructuring these teams was an efficient way to utilize its existing staff in the midst of retirements and a difficult fiscal period. According to Greg Stone, Superintendent of Schools, “The administrative, clerical, and operational restructuring reflects our ongoing efforts to build a highly resilient leadership team, placing the right people in the right positions in the best interests of our students.”

 

The WCSD staff members taking on new roles are listed below.

 

Mindy Ervay

Assistant Superintendent of Instruction & Middle School Principal

On top of her role as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, Ervay is taking on the role of Middle School Principal (grades six through eight). Ervay worked as our Elementary School Principal before becoming Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.

 

 

Amie Fatcheric

Secretary of Special Education & Jr./Sr. High School Secretary

Making the move from the Elementary School, Fatcheric will continue in her role as Secretary of Special Education and also take over as the Jr./Sr. High School Secretary.

 

 

Mary Fedyshyn

Elementary School Receptionist

Having previously worked as a School Bus Driver, Teacher Aide, and the Jr./Sr. High School Receptionist in years past, Fedyshyn will now be the new Elementary School Receptionist.

 

 

Nicole Kulikowski

Elementary School Principal

Coming to us from the North Syracuse Central School District as a new hire introduced last spring, Kulikowski is our new Elementary School Principal (grades pre-K through five).

 

 

Sherri Monell

High School Principal, Director of Special Education, & Title IX Officer

Having previously been our Jr./Sr. High School Principal (grades six through 12), Monell will now be our High School Principal (grades nine through 12), Director of Special Education, and Title IX Officer.

 

 

PJ Piascik

Recreation Director & Communications Specialist

In addition to his role as Recreation Director, Piascik will take over as our Communications Specialist. Prior to becoming Recreation Director, Piascik worked as a Teacher Aide in the Jr./Sr. High School.

 

Stone notes that the restructuring was made with a belief in the staff members’ abilities to take on new responsibilities and keep our district moving with an eye toward the future. He added, “Filling the shoes of our previous leaders was a daunting task, but I am confident that our new, streamlined team is not only up for the challenge, but will continue to move our district forward, anchored in our core value: Inspiring Excellence. Ensuring Success.”
