On Tuesday, June 23, Weedsport junior Ethan Reitema was selected by syracuse.com as the Bowler of the Year at their annual All-Central New York High School Sports Awards. Reitema was one of four nominees for the prestigious honor. 

The recognition is a fitting cap to a decorated junior season for Reitema. The junior’s accomplishments include:

• New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Division II individual champion
• syracuse.com All-CNY Team
• Breaking the school record for total pinfall during the regular season (39,575)
• Most Valuable Player for the Weedsport Varsity Boys Bowling Team
• NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete

Reitema and the rest of the boys bowling squad, coached by Alex Veiga, held an overall record of 8-6 this season and earned a spot in sectionals.
