Weedsport Performing Arts Hall of Fame to Welcome Inductee Mary Buchmann

Join us this Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 PM for a special evening celebrating excellence in the arts at our annual Performing Arts Hall of Fame Concert!
This year, we are proud to honor Mary Buchmann as our newest inductee.
Mary Buchmann is a dedicated music educator with a remarkable 33-year career. She began teaching at Elbridge Elementary for 12 years, followed by 2 years in the Liverpool Central School District. After taking time to raise her daughter, Julie, Mary continued to share her passion for music at Weedsport Elementary, where she spent 19 incredible years shaping young musicians’ lives.
During her time away from the classroom, Mary performed lead roles with Syracuse Opera, including Berta in The Barber of Seville and Annina in La Traviata, and was a soprano soloist in Carmina Burana.
Beyond the classroom, Mary has been deeply involved in the performing arts community—serving as a guest judge and conductor for All-County Chorus Festivals, directing musicals and plays for nearly 40 years alongside her husband, Joseph Buchmann, and contributing as Chorus Master for the Syracuse Opera Children’s Chorus. She also led numerous middle school productions at Weedsport, inspiring students through shows like Seussical, The Little Mermaid, and SpongeBob.
Mary’s passion, talent, and lifelong dedication to music education have left a lasting impact on countless students and the community.
Come celebrate her legacy and enjoy an evening of outstanding performances!
