Weedsport Music Teacher Alexandra Reilly said the following about Ivy:
Senior Avery “Ivy” Miller has earned the distinguished honor of acceptance into Senior High Area All-State, a testament to her exceptional musicianship, discipline, and steadfast commitment to artistic excellence. Ivy will continue her academic and athletic pursuits at D’Youville University, where she has been selected for Gymnastics and Tumbling—an achievement that underscores her remarkable versatility, drive, and ability to excel across multiple disciplines. As a devoted member of band, jazz band, chorus, and Select Chorale, Ivy has become a highlight of our music department. Having Ivy in the choral program has truly helped shape it into what it is today; her presence elevates not only the ensemble’s musical integrity but also its collaborative spirit and artistic ambition.
An extraordinary classical soprano, Ivy sings with a luminous, timeless quality capable of transporting listeners to the golden decades of vocal performance. Her mastery of choral technique is unmatched, and her deep love for musical theatre is both encyclopedic and contagious—ask her about any musical, and she will effortlessly tell you its history, its significance, and who originated the role on Broadway. Ivy has participated in numerous All-County festivals and achieved an exceptional score on her Level 6 NYSSMA solo, securing her well-deserved qualification for Area All-State this year. Onstage, Ivy has delivered compelling and memorable performances in our productions, embodying roles such as Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors and Lorraine in All Shook Up with artistry, professionalism, and emotional insight. She is a naturally gifted musician whose talent is amplified by the immense dedication she has invested in perfecting her craft. Ivy’s voice fills every room with resonance and warmth, her presence inspires those around her, and her contributions have left a lasting and transformative mark on the Weedsport music community. We are profoundly grateful to have her as a performer, leader, and musician within our program.
Weedsport Music Teacher Alex Veiga added the following about Lilly:
This year, Lilly Kime, a Senior in the music program, continues to distinguish herself by representing Weedsport at Area All-State for the third time, performing on clarinet with exceptional poise and musicianship. Her continued qualification for this highly selective ensemble reflects not only her outstanding ability but also her unwavering dedication to excellence. Each year she has grown more refined, expressive, and confident as a performer, and her achievement stands as a source of pride for our entire school community. Her musicianship has been shaped by years of disciplined study, culminating in the performance of All-State–level solos for two consecutive years—a testament to both exceptional technical skill and remarkable musical maturity.
As a leader in the band room, Lilly has served with distinction, first as Treasurer and currently as Band President. Her leadership has helped create a positive, organized, and welcoming environment where students not only excel musically but also feel supported and empowered. This steady presence and sense of responsibility have had a profound impact on the culture of our ensemble. In the pit orchestra, Lilly has become indispensable. Her musicianship enhances every show, elevating the energy of the stage and providing the musical backbone that allows each production to thrive. Her reliability and versatility have made her a cornerstone of our performances, and her contributions have been felt not just in the notes she plays, but in the care, professionalism, and collaborative spirit she brings to every rehearsal.
Next year, she will continue her academic journey in the field of visual art, a path that perfectly reflects her creativity, curiosity, and expressive spirit. Her ability to bridge artistic disciplines—moving effortlessly between visual media and musical performance—speaks to a rare depth of talent and imagination. Lilly is an extraordinary artist whose quiet strength, dedication, and passion leave a lasting imprint on the Weedsport music community. We are deeply grateful for the leadership she has shown, the excellence she has achieved, and the legacy she leaves behind as both a musician and a creator.
