Business Program and FACS Classes Thriving at Weedsport

Our Business Program and FACS classes have been busy and thriving! In Financial Literacy, students have been diving into the power of investments and learning why it’s so important to understand the value of their money while they’re young. Building these habits early helps set the foundation for confident, financially responsible futures.

Students also had the exciting opportunity to attend the Business Career Showcase at Cayuga Community College. During this event, they explored courses in the Business Administration Program and met with faculty and staff connected to Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance, and more. This experience gave students a firsthand look at potential career paths and the skills needed to succeed in today’s business world.
In 6th Grade FACS, students are hard at work on their Food Truck Project, where they will design and develop a complete food truck business of their own. To kick off the project, students were lucky enough to tour a real food truck! Ryan Moon, Owner/Operator of Mooney’s BBQ, generously brought his food truck to our school, giving students an authentic, hands-on experience of what it’s like to work inside a fully functioning food truck. A huge thank you to Mooney’s for providing our students with such an exciting and educational opportunity!
