Cayuga County Bar Association

Awards an annual scholarship of $1,500 to a graduating senior who resides in Cayuga county and intends to attend a 2 or 4 year college. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, extracurricular activities, letter of recommendation and an essay. Applications are typically available late winter in the guidance office.

Scoville Wildlife Scholarship

Given in memory of Roland “Bud” Scoville, an avid hunter and fisherman and past owner of Bud’s Bait and Tackle in Auburn. This scholarship is set up by family and friends in his memory. A one year award of $500 is given to a senior who is pursuing a career in wildlife management or environment sciences. Students must be attending a two or four college in a related field. Cayuga Counselors Association Scholarship

High school seniors who are planning to attend an accredited post secondary school for full time study with a major in one of the following areas; counseling/psychology, education, health occupations, or social services. Students must provide an essay that shows the candidate’s involvement in groups, clubs, or organizations that are in or out of the school. This essay is to demonstrate a service to others or an act of reaching out to those in need.

ACC/CCC Alumni Association Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of a graduate of Auburn/Cayuga Community College. Eligible applicants must have been accepted and plan to attend CAYUGA full time, have an academic average of 80 or higher, submit a copy of their high school transcript, give evidence of involvement in extracurricular and/or community and/or work activities, and complete a 500-word well-written essay.

Frank D Ruggiero Memorial Award

If you have been a participant in the Great Race in the past or will be in the future (volunteer or competitor) and will be enrolled as a full time student in the Fall then you may be eligible. Frank D Ruggiero was a Great Race Committee member who was committed to teamwork and community service. An award will be given to one who shows a similar commitment to community service. Western and Central New York SCI Scholarship

The Western and Central NY Chapter of Safari Club International is offering two scholarships to seniors planning to major in; forestry, conservation, environmental science, veterinary medicines, and fisheries and wildlife management. The scholarship application must include student, parent/guardian, and counselor/principal signatures.

Oneida Lake Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America Scholarship

Is intended for graduating high school seniors with an interest in cars and plans to pursue an automotive related education. Applicants must meet all required criteria, some of which includes completing a personal questionnaire and giving a report to the Oneida Lake Region of his/her progress during the first year of college. Those chosen as finalists may need to be interviewed by the committee.

LaBuff-Cole American Legion, Post 911 Scholarships

Two scholarships will be awarded to students seeking post-high school education or training. Grants will be made on the basis of financial need, academic performance, and involvement in school, community, and family activities. Applicants must remain in good standing throughout their academic or vocational program, as well as submit a written verification of successful completion at the end of each semester.

Syracuse Builders Exchange Scholarships

Three scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and college students. Applicants must be an employee of an SBE member firm or a dependent of an employee. Enrollment must be at an accredited college or university within New York State with preferred full time statue. A 100-word essay is required and should include your future plans and objectives.

Cayuga-Onondaga Retirees of NYSUT (CORN) Scholarships

Applicants must be graduating seniors who will be enrolled or are accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year institution. Selection criteria will review character, leadership, academic record, biographical sketch, and two references.

  • The Timothy J Klink Memorial Scholarship – Must pursue a degree in the sciences, mathematics or engineering. It is a one-time award.
  • The MaryAnn Klink Memorial Scholarship – Must pursue a degree in Elementary Education. It is a one-time award.
  • The CORN General Scholarships – to pursue a degree in any field. Two awards given at one-time for each awarded application.

NYSIR: The Cristin Ann Bambino Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound special education student. An essay of no more than 650 words is required and will include topics listed on the application.

NYSIR: The Paul Jensen Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has excelled in design in high school, who is also seeking an opportunity to pursue this path in college. An essay of no more than 650 words is required and will include topics listed on the application.

The Cora E King Scholarship

Applicants must be residents of Cayuga County for at least one year preceding the application deadline. It will be awarded to high school graduates or equivalency who are applying to or enrolled in a four year bachelor’s program. Applicants must reapply each year to be considered for an award. Preference will be given to those pursuing professional vocations.

New York State Academy of Family Physicians Scholarship

Two senior high school students, with a desire to become a family physician, will each receive a scholarship. The application is available online at www.nysafp.org and can be made available in a paper copy. If students apply online they must notify their School Counselor because a form must be completed by them in order for applicants to be considered.

Price Chopper’s GOLUB Foundation Scholarships

Eight scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors planning to attend college as fully matriculated, first year students. Application procedures and criteria for each are explained online at www.pricechopper.com. A student is eligible to apply to only one scholarship. Applicants should send an application (completed and printed online), transcript, original essay, and three letters of reference.

The Barbara E Klumpp Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship, given by the Cayuga/Onondaga Association of Educational Office Personnel, is open to all students who are interested in pursuing an education in the business field. The award will be given in two installments. Scholarship award is based on academic and financial need.

Zonta International District II Jean M Coon Humanitarian Award

The Zonta Club of Auburn is giving an award for outstanding community service. Academic Achievement is not a factor in selecting a winner. A certificate and monetary award is presented by local Zonta Clubs to the winning candidates in the spring of each year.

Young Women in Public Affairs Award

The Zonta International Clubs are awarding young women in public affairs. Applicants must be pre-college students aged 16-20. This award is designed to promote service to the community and is not based on academic achievement.

Elks Scholarships

The Elks National Foundation gives out scholarships for “Most Valuable Student.” For information please contact the Guidance Office or go online to find your local Lodge at www.elks.org/lodges. Thousands of dollars are given out yearly and it is recommended that students apply early.

Empire State Potato Growers, Inc. Scholarship Award

A scholarship for undergraduate students, residing in and pursuing college studies in New York State, benefiting the agricultural industry. Full time academic study in the field of agriculture is required. The monetary amount will be awarded each academic year, for up to four consecutive undergraduate years. Scholarships will be based on area of study, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

American Society of Military Comptrollers Scholarship

The local ASMC Chapter will be awarding at least one scholarship. It is intended for students entering the fields of finance, accounting, business administration, economics, public policy, computer science, etc. It is preferred for students who are in the upper one-third of their graduating class or have an average of 3.0 or above.

New York Water Environment Association, Inc. Scholarship

Award is granted to a high school student who will be enrolled in an environmentally related program in a four year college or university. Scholarship applications are available online from the NYWEA website at www.nywea.org.

New York Water Environment Association, Inc. Environmental Career Scholarship

This award will be paid out over four years to applicants who: qualify as a high school senior, a New York State resident, and is enrolled full-time in a B.S. or B.E. degree program with an environmental emphasis. The application is available online at www.nywea.org.

Cargill Community Scholarship

The national program administered by National FFA on behalf of Cargill, will award scholarships to 350 high school seniors in the U.S. Students do not need to be in FFA to be eligible. Students are selected based on academic achievements and leadership in extracurricular and civic activities. Each applicant must have a signature from a Cargill employee on the application to be eligible. Guidelines and applications are available online at www.cargill.com, keyword: scholarship.

New York State Automotive Wholesalers Services, Inc. Scholarship

Scholarship money is available to a student wishing to pursue a career in the Automotive Aftermarket Industry. For more information or to request an application, please call 1-800-888-6929.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Alpha Mu Chapter Memorial Grant

This international teachers honorary society is offering one memorial grant to an outstanding senior girl who is interested in a teaching career. Qualifications for this award include an academic record, leadership qualities, financial need, and initiative and potential for teaching.

Coca-Cola Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program awards 250 scholarships each year to students across the United States. Applicants must be a current high school senior attending school or being home schooled in the U.S. Also, they must be anticipating completion of their high school degree during the academic year in which the application is made. These students must carry a minimum 3.0 grade point average at the end of his/her junior year and must be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited post-secondary institution. Dorothea Deitz Memorial Scholarships

These scholarships are meant to provide financial assistance to selected women students planning to major in Physical Education Teacher Education. This scholarship is a memorial to Dorothea Deitz, an outstanding teacher, supervisor and director of physical education. The scholarships awarded are based on character, academic achievement, physical education competence, participation in athletics, leadership qualities, and financial need. Requests for application forms should be made through your Area DDMS chairperson or online at www.nysahperd.org.

Auburn Community Federal Credit Union Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be college-bound high school seniors at the time of their application, attending college for the first time in the Fall semester and are members of a participating credit union. Applicants will be judged based upon their academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities, and a written essay.

Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York: Ned Carter Scholarship

This scholarship will be available for three New York State High School Seniors, one for each geographic area, who will be graduating in June. The student must be related to or be a firefighter in an affiliated member organization of the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York. Recipients must be continuing on to either a two or four year accredited school and will be entering a career of service to the community. Applications will be evaluated by a committee and all decisions of this committee are final. Two teacher recommendations, one Guidance Counselor endorsement, one personal reference, and one firematic recommendation are required along with a transcript. Applications must be typed.
