Weedsport Central School District switches to remote learning for Thursday, Friday

Weedsport Central School District has made the difficult decision to transition to remote learning for Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26. We understand the strain this may put on some families when it comes to providing care for their children. It is not a decision we make lightly.

Several of our transportation staff members will be receiving the second dose of their COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, as dictated by the Cayuga County Health Department. The reality is that this second dose can lead to some nasty side effects. We have seen it firsthand in other staff members. Though we cannot predict how anyone will feel after receiving their second dose, it is out of an abundance of caution that we are choosing to keep students home as our transportation staff returns to full health. Student safety will always be our top priority.

Families can pick up meals for their students on Wednesday from 2-2:30 p.m. and on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. from the Weedsport Jr.-Sr. High School. Remote learning resources can be found on our website, along with student expectations as they learn from home.
