Fall sports team previews

The fall sports season has arrived! Please scroll down to see previews of our Warriors fall sports teams.

Cross Country

The boys varsity cross country running team will have three seniors, Landon Kepple, Forrest Nguyen, and Nash Hertlein. They will help encourage the team through leadership and should be in the top five for finishers. Senior Landon Kepple hopes to repeat his outstanding performance from last year. Forrest Nguyen has been instrumental in being a team model for training this summer as well as help lead the summer practices. The team hopes to be one of the top two teams in the league.

The girls varsity cross country running team will have three seniors. Sarah Carroll, Allison House, and Meagan Fatcheric will be in the top five and display leadership for the upcoming season. The team is small but should be league contenders with Allison House and Sarah Carroll at the helm. Allison and Sarah are our front runners, and are expected to be improved from last year’s season performance.

Field Hockey

The varsity field hockey team is working very hard to overcome the loss of 9 out of 16 players from last year, and to get everyone back on the field as quickly as possible.

The girls are all trying their best every day to improve. Our seniors: Julie Cook, Alexus Granbois, Christina Jackson, Savanna Murray, Isabella Petrus, Rachel Sheets and Madison Stock are leading the way. The underclassmen are led by juniors Trinity Davis, Isabella Delgado, Jenna Guzzo, and Lilyanna Komarisky. With no sophomores, Weedsport is hoping for big contributions from Freshmen Gabriella Jeffers and Ayla Stark, along with 8th graders Mallory Brown and Amariah Davis.

This should be an exciting year for the warriors. Good luck everyone.

Football

The Warriors are returning to the field after going 3-0 in an abbreviated spring season. Led by Seniors Quinn Rudick, Jack Lowery, and Parker McBride, the team looks to continue its 11 game win streak. Juniors Robert Chirco, Andrew Seward, Robert Quigley, and Troy Brown were able to gain some game experience in the spring and will play bigger roles this season. Despite the many new faces on the field this season, you can expect the Warriors to continue to represent the school, their families, and the community in a positive manner. Go Warriors!
