The Weedsport Central School District Varsity Golf team won the Section III Champions West Division for the first time in over 20 years.

“I think it’s been 22 years, I have to confirm that,” Head Coach Nick Wilson said. “I’m very proud of these boys.”

The win over Pulaski came via a score of 434, which was good enough to win by 17 shots. They finished the season with a 6-2 overall record.  

Weedsport golfer Braden Wood shot 76 to win the individual championship of sectionals as well. Braden Wood and Owen Jeffers (who shot an 84) both advanced to the state qualifier at Colgate University, which is taking place today, Wednesday, May 21.
