The Mission of the Weedsport Central School Science Department

As students pass through the various science disciplines, they will learn and apply the sequential science theories that will equip them for an effective transition to college level studies. At each grade level theoretical science studies are augmented by laboratory experiments. Through these experiments students will learn to apply science theory to the solution of both lab and real world problems.  At the Elementary and middle school levels students learn the broad science concepts upon which all future studies will stand. As they progress  through the high school grades these concepts are studied in increasing complexity and detail. At all levels, students will learn to work as large groups, as individuals, and in small teams, and they are encouraged to share individual skills for the advancement  of the group.
