Creating and performing in the arts |
| Students at Weedsport Central School will develop the skills necessary to create art; compose music; and perform vocally and/or instrumentally in both an ensemble and solo setting as a means of self-expression. |

Knowing and using arts marterials and resources |
Students at Weedsport Central School will learn the processes and will become aware of the resources available to enhance arts creation, composition, performance and listening skills that will enable them to become independent, life-long aficionados of the fine arts. |

Responding to and analyzing works of art |
Students at Weedsport Central School will be able to respond critically to their own and other’s performances, compositions and creations using correct terminology and demonstrating knowledge and understanding of musical and/or artistic concepts. |

Understanding the cultural contributions of the arts |
Students at Weedsport Central School will study the fine arts from a variety of genres, styles, cultures, and mediums; understand and appreciate the relationship between the fine arts and history/culture; and appreciate not only the art form itself, but the process by which that art form is created. |
